LRW - Winter Blues

We are right in the middle of the 'winter blues'. I am surrounded by people that are heading south to soak up the sun.....and I am stuck in the middle of icy cold temperatures and gray skies.  It's not so bad, and it is a great challenge for this week over at Little Red Wagon.

Tracy is our hostess and she want us to use mostly blue on our cards.  This was fun and a great way to use up scraps.  Here is my card......

I had a lot of fun rummaging through my scrap bin and finding some coordinating papers.  I created heart 'windows' and place the papers in behind them.  I even got out my embossing powder for the sentiment.

I hope you will join in on our challenge and create something to share with us.  Be sure to visit the 'girlfriends' blogs and link up your project over on the Little Red Wagon blog!!

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

Crash Your Stash - Project #8
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
Crafting From The Heart - Anything Goes

LRW - Shhhh! No Words At All

This week's challenge at Little Red Wagon is brought to us by the lovely Jan!!!  I think she is personally trying to torture me!!!  We are supposed to create a card/project with no words at all.......that is crazy!!  In real life, I am a talker.....so in my card life, I definitley like to add words for a sentiment.  It was tricky, but I did it!!!

Here is my card.....WITH NO WORDS AT ALL (that is me yelling, since we can't use any words on our card)!  I coloured this sweet snowman image.  He is actually waving 'Hi', but he has to act out the sentiment that I would have put right beside him.....see the empty space?

I used some natural twine and a wooden heart that I found in my stash and wrapped it around my card front, along the red dot paper.

After this challenge is over, I will likely pull out a sentiment stamp and fill in the little white space next to this handsome fella!!

Thank you Jan!!  You certainly challenged me, but I just love the results.  I look forward to your next one :)  Be sure to visit the other 'girlfriends' blogs and check out their very 'quiet' projects.  If you play along with us, visit the Little Red Wagon blog and link up.

New Frames For My Kitchen

It has been a while since I have posted anything except for my challenges for Little Red Wagon. They keep me pretty busy, but I do work on other projects as well.  I have been working on a few different things around my house, so I thought I would share one here!

I love to use my Silhouette.....and it is not just for paper.  I was inspired, by a friend of mine, to make these awesome frames for my kitchen.  I had a rather large, empty wall that needed some attention.  I figured this would be the perfect thing.

The frames were a purchase from Ikea (back in mid December) and the vinyl has been in my stash for a while.  I had painted the kitchen about 6 months earlier and just recently hung some new curtains. It is still a work in progress, but it is coming along.

This is project #7 for my Crash Your Stash challenge (I have to make 25 projects with items in my stash before I can purchase any new products).

LRW - Frosty! Create A Snow Themed Card

Good Morning friends!! Everything around here is frozen....it is cold and covered with snow.  It is perfect for this weeks challenge for Little Red Wagon.

Joanne is our hostess this week and her challenge is Frosty!!!  Create a snow themed card.  I went to my stash and came up with some great items to work with.

Here is my creation....I wanted to make a snow scene, so I tried a step card.  It was really fun to make.

My favourite part is this cute little bird sitting by the fence.

I sure hope you will join in the fun and play along with this weeks challenge.  For more inspiration, visit the 'girlfriends' blogs by clicking the links on my sidebar.  Don't forget to link up your project over on the Little Red Wagon blog.....and visit our Facebook page too.

LRW - Sparkle & Shine!!

Hello!!! Welcome to another great year of challenges with Little Red Wagon.  We have added 2 new girlfriends to the team......welcome to Collette and Suzie!!  They will be joining in to start the year off.  I have added the links to their blogs on my sidebar.

Now, on with this weeks challenge.  Heather is our hostess and she wants to see some Sparkle and Shine!!  I decided to start the year off with a bang, and pull out my copic markers......they were pretty dusty.

I used a sweet image from the Digi Stamp Boutique and created a snow scene with texture paste and glitter.

I hope you can see the sparkle in this close up shot.  In the light is shimmers and shines.

I also added some glitter to the rim of his touque and the pom pom.

Be sure to stop by and visit all the girlfriends blogs and if you play along with the challenge, visit the Little Red Wagon blog and link up your creation.

Hockey Scrapbook Page Ideas/17turtles Guest Design Spot

Hello everyone! I am so excited to share a layout that I created for my guest designer spot over at 17turtles!!!  I love Julianna's files, but this time was a little different, because she created some HOCKEY files!!!!  I jumped at the chance to design with them.

I knew right away that I wanted to use some photos that I had from my favourite team......the Kitchener Rangers :).  I actually created 2 layouts!!!  One will be shown here, and the other one will be shown on the 17turtles blog.  I also want to note that this project #2 and #3 for my 2015 Use Your Stash Challenge.  Before I show you my layout, let's check out the files I used.

These files (and many more) can be found on the 17turtles etsy store.

Here is my first layout!!!!  I used the Hockey is Life set and created the main title for my page, along with the tag at the top with the word 'goal' inserted into it.

Here are some closeups of the files......

I took my photo and cut it into the shape of the tags (using my Silhouette, of course). This was a fun technique to make it look interesting.  I found an old rub-on and put it right on my photo, which worked out well too.

I had lots of hockey things that I had collected over the years, so embellishing was not a problem.

Thanks to Julianna for allowing me to design with these awesome files.  Be sure to visit the 17turtles blog to see the second layout that I created using her designs.
