LRW - Happy New Year

I can't believe it's the last Little Red Wagon challenge for 2015!!  I just love how each challenge keeps me inspired and creative.  Thank you to my LRW girlfriends for coming up with such great ideas too.

This week Donna is our hostess and she wants to see a New Years card.  I must admit, I did have another card already made for this challenge, but I changed my mind and whipped up this one instead.

I used my Copic markers and also did a little paper piecing too.

I am wishing everyone a very Happy New Year!  I hope 2016 brings you lots of joy.  Don't forget to play along and link up over on the Little Red Wagon blog.

I Was A Favourite Pick!!

What a suprise I had when I visited my blog today!!  I received this lovely message:

I just LOVE your card! I wanted to let you know that I’ve chosen your creation as one of my Favorite Picks and linked back to your blog! Thanks so much for sharing your talent. Kathy at stampsatplay.blogspot.com

I was confused at first because I didn't enter my card in any other challenges so I wasn't sure how I could be selected as a 'favourite pick'.

After visiting her blog I realized that she just randomly picks her favourites from things she sees on blogs etc.  WOW!!  How did I get selected with all the great Christmas cards out there and she picks mine as one of her favourites (there were many others selected too).

What an honour!  Thank you Kathy!!

LRW - Sparkle & Shine

Welcome!!  It is time for another challenge for Little Red Wagon and Brenda is our hostess.  She wants to see sparkle and shine!!  I chose to use foil on my project but you can use anything that sparkles or shines.

I dug through my wagon and pulled out a holly die and with some double-sided adhesive paper, I whipped up this gorgeous element for my card.

I am excited to see what the other girlfriends have created.  If you play along, be sure to link up over on the Little Red Wagon blog.

LRW - Let's Get Sketchy

Time for another challenge on the Little Red Wagon blog. This week Jan wants us to follow a sketch!!  I haven't used a sketch in a very long time.

Here is the sketch that she provided:

Here is the card that I designed!!  I seem to have a thing with snowmen lately :)

I also love these little tags that I can make to add my sentiment.  This little punch was a good investment.

My snowman is mounted on an action Wobble so it moves when you give it a shake. I didn't take the time to make a video, but I did take an action photo.

Please join in the fun over on the Little Red Wagon blog.  Be sure to link up your creation too.

I have also entered my card in the following challenges:

4 Crafty Chicks - Snowman or Snowmen
Cupcake Inspirations - Colour/Photo Challenge

LRW - Snow Much Fun!!

Time for another challenge over on the Little Red Wagon blog!  Ususally by now we have had a few snowfalls, but this year it's not happening.  We are experiencing very mild temperatures with no snow in sight.

Our challenge this week is 'snow much fun', so we are going to make our own white stuff!!  I decided to actually build a snowman.  I used this adorable marquee from Heidi Swapp and have totally fallen in love with him.

Here is what he looks like when he is lit up (but I hadn't added the holly to his hat yet).  Isn't he handsome?

I can't wait to see what the other girlfriends have created.  Be sure to share your creations over on the Little Red Wagon blog.  Have fun!!!

LRW - That's How I Roll

Happy Wednesday!! It is time for a new challenge at Little Red Wagon, AND it is my turn to host.  I thought it would be fun to base our projects around transportation......so let's see it!  Planes, trains, automobiles, boats, trucks, bicycles, skateboards, or anything else you can come up with.

I decided to make this card, and it is a little bit special.  I had a friend pass away a few years ago and the stamp set that I used to make this card belonged to her.  I have had it in my stash and thought this was the perfect time to pull it out and put it to good use.  This one is for you Tracy!!!!

I used the stamp to do some paper piecing.  I haven't done that in a long time and I forgot how much I enjoy it!!

I hope you will join in the fun and play along with us.  Don't forget to link up your project over on the Little Red Wagon blog.

LRW - Technique Card

This is going to be a great week to join in the challenge at Little Red Wagon. It is Mandy's turn and she want to see a technique card.....pop-up, magic, z-fold, etc.  Doesn't that sound like fun.

I had a great time creating my card for this week's challenge.  I made a box card for Christmas.  It is very dimensional and stands up, but it also folds down flat for mailing (although I have no intensions of sending it to anyone.....it will look great on my mantle :).

I love the skates.  It reminds me of the days when I used to enjoy skating.  I have since turned in my figure skates for hockey skates.

I am going to make my way around to the other girlfriends blog to see what they created.  I hope you will join in the fun.

LRW - Turkey Day

Thanksgiving has come and gone here in Canada, but it is just grearing up in the USA!! This week's challenge at Little Red Wagon is 'turkey day'!!  That means, anything to do with a turkey.

I played with some Doodlebug papers and created a card with this sweet little guy!!

I hope you will join in this fun challenge and be sure to link up your creation over on the Little Red Wagon blog!!

LRW - Mix it Up

It's time for another great challenge for Little Red Wagon!  This week it is Brenda's turn to host and she wants us to 'mix it up' and use 3 different patterned papers together on our projects.

I decided to make a tag to decorate the Halloween candy bags for my kids (they are never too old for Halloween treats).

I used up some paper scraps and found some cute rub-ons that I had never used.

I am looking forward to seeing what the other girlfriends have created.  If you play along, be sure to link up your project over on the Little Red Wagon blog.

LRW - Halloween

Time for another challenge at the Little Red Wagon blog.  This week it is Jan's turn and she wants to see anything Halloween.

I had a lot of fun creating this card.  I dug deep into my wagon and found some cute die-cuts and a background stamp I had never used.

I did a bit of layering and added some twine and bling......bam!!  A great Halloween card.

Hope you find some time to create with us this week.

LRW - Home is Where the Heart Is!!

This week's challenge for Little Red Wagon was a tough one for me.  Not only was I struggling with the actual challenge, I was struggling for time to complete it.  I decided to dig into my most recent album and post a layout that I completed a while ago.....but it is perfect for this challenge.

The houses are from Maya Road and come in many different shapes and sizes.

I really love how this turned out and how I was able to capture some of our favourite parts of this trip.

I added some texture past to create some dimension too.

I hope you will find some time to play this week and join us in our challenge.  Don't forget to link up over on the Little Red Wagon blog.

LRW - Tags

The week is just zooming along....I can't believe that it is Wednesday already! This week it is Heather's turn to host our challenge for Little Red Wagon. She would like us to use a tag on our project.

As soon as I saw this challenge, I knew exactly which tag I was going to use.  I have a favourite little tag punch and this was the perfect opportunity to pull it out and use it.

I used foil to make my pumpkin and the little tag was the perfect accent!!

The sentiment is printed on vellum from my computer.

Be sure to visit the other girlfriends for some more inspiration and then link up your project over on the Little Red Wagon blog.  Have fun!!!

LRW - It's All About the Boys

Hello friends! I am hosting this week's challenge over at Little Red Wagon.  I always need masculine cards, and never have one when I need it.  So this week, it's all about the boys.  Create a masculine card/project.  Here is what I came up with.

I kept it simple, which is usually a challenge for me.  I really love how it turned out.

I hope you will join in the fun!  Be sure to link up your project over on the Little Red Wagon Blog.

LRW - Use An Embossing Folder

Yay!! It's another challenge over on the Little Red Wagon blog.  This week Mandy is our hostess and she wants us to use an embossing folder on our project.

I have lots of embossing folders that don't get used very often.  This was a great opportunity for me to search through my pile and dust them off.

Here is what I created.

I hope you will join in the fun and play along.  Be sure to link up your project over on the Little Red Wagon blog and visit the other girlfriends to see what they have created.

LRW - Happy Fall Y'all!!!

Another great challenge is up over on the Little Red Wagon blog!!  This week it is anything Fall!  I love Fall, I just don't like what comes after it........ugh!!

I had lots of fun creating this fall card using my Silhouette.  This little hedgehog is just the cutest.

I added some of my favourite ribbon and a little sentiment on a tiny tag.

Check out the Little Red Wagon blog and visit the other girlfriends blogs for some inspiration.  Don't forget to link up your project.

LRW - Try Something New

Time for another challenge over on the Little Red Wagon blog!!  This week it is hosted by Brenda and she wants us to 'try something new'.  It can be a new technique, a new stamp, a new tool.....just something new!!

I gotta say, I loved this challenge.  I love trying new things and this was the perfect opportunity. Here is what I came up with.....

I am facinated by all the foil that I am seeing so I thought I would give it a try.  I totally love it.

I also have a new stamp set from Tim Holtz that I tried out too.

I did see a card very similar to this somewhere on the web, but I don't know where it came from.  Thank you for the inspiration (whoever it was from).

I hope that you will try something new and play along with us!!  Be sure to link up your project on the Little Red Wagon blog.

LRW - Digi Do (Use a Digital Stamp)

Today is the start of another great challenge over on the Little Red Wagon blog. This week it is Jan's turn and she wants us to use a digital stamp!  Well, that was easy.  I have lots :).

I know it is only September, but I couldn't resist making a Christmas card using this sweet robin from Digi Stamp Boutique!!

I added a little glitter to the hat for some sparkle.

I even used a digital stamp for my sentiment.

Be sure to visit the other girlfriends blogs and check out what they created.  If you play along, link up your creation over on the Little Red Wagon blog.  Have fun :)!!!

LRW - Clean & Simple

Welcome to this Wednesday's challenge for Little Red Wagon.  Joanne is our hostess and she wants to see clean & simple.

For most people, that is probably pretty easy.  For me, not so much!!  I seem to really struggle with this sort of challenge.

This is what I came up with!!  The sun has been cut out on my desk for quite awhile.  I added a strip of patterned paper, a button, some twine and a stamped sentiment.  That is about as simple as I can be.

I hope you will give this challenge a try!!  Be sure to link up your creation over on the Little Red Wagon blog and visit the other girlfriends for some inspiration!!

LRW - Colour Challenge

Hello!! Welcome to another Little Red Wagon challenge. This week it is Heather's turn to host and she has issued a colour challenge.  She wants us to use pink, turquoise and green on our project.

First, I must apologize for posting a little late.  I have been on holidays and have been a little overwhelmed since coming home.  I just finished up my card tonight and the lighting was not the best for taking a photo (that is why there is such a dark background).  However, I am so glad that was able to finish my card and get it posted on the same day the challenge was issued.....that technically makes me 'on time', right??

I tried a new technique on my background using bubbles (the kind you blow) and food colouring. You add the food colouring to the bubbles and then blow them towards your paper.  When they pop you get a burst of colour!!  It was fun, but the mixture of colours is a little off from the challenge.  My green looks a little more like yellow :(

I added some strips of cardstock and a couple of die-cuts to finish it off.

I hope you will play along with this weeks challenge.  Don't forget to link up your project over on the Little Red Wagon blog.

LRW - Pick Up The Pieces!!

Hello, and thanks for stopping by to check out another challenge for Little Red Wagon.  This week is my turn to host!!!  Actually, it is not very good timing because I am on vacation in Alberta, ON!!  However, I did prepare ahead :)

I love paper piecing, especially with stamps!!  My challenge is to do a little paper piecing on your project!!  Get creative.  I can't wait to see what you come up with.

I created this card using a new stamp set from Taylored Expressions.  I saw a similar design online and added my own flair.

I chose to stamp the fish on different colours of pattern paper and then cut them out and layered them over the original stamped desing.  It turned out really cute :)

Don't forget to link up your project over on the Little Red Wagon blog!!  If you need a little inspiration, you can visit the other girlfriends and see what they created.

LRW - Use Vellum

Hello friends! It is time for another great challenge over on the Little Red Wagon blog.  This week it is Mandy's turn and she wants us to use vellum on our projects.

My card features my sentiment that has been printed on vellum!

I love that it just blends into the background of the card.

I can't wait to see all the different ways that vellum can be used.  Hope you will join in the fun.

LRW - Shake it Up

Thanks for stopping in to check out another great Little Red Wagon challenge.  This week it is Donna's turn and she want us to 'shake it up'!!  That means that she wants to see some shaker cards.  I love interactive cards, so this was really fun to do!!

I made a mason jar card using my Silhouette Cameo :).  My window reveals lots of cute buttons and some sparkly sequins.

I finished it off with a couple of tags, a clear sticker, a matching button and some ribbon and twine.

Give it a try and share it with us over on the Little Red Wagon blog!  I can't wait to see all the great creations.  Don't forget to visit the other girlfriends for some inspiration.

LRW - Thickers/Stickers

Good morning to all the Little Red Wagon fans!!!  It is time for another challenge and this week it is Jan's turn.  She want us to use Thickers/stickers on our project.  I used lots and lots of stickers on my card.  Let's check it out.....

Those cute little flip flops are stickers and I added some clear Dew Drops for some extra bling.

My sun and cloud are also stickers.  I embellished with a button and some twine for fun!!
