It Takes Rain & Sunshine - July Sketch Challenge

I am really on a roll with my blogging and my creating. I hope I can keep this up.

I am super excited to share this layout with you for a few reasons. I played along with Two Scrapbook Friends July Sketch Challenge, which I never seem to find the time to do. Christa made up a great sketch and it really inspired me to get involved.

I also used some photos that I printed from Instagram. I did a little editing using a few phone apps that I have and I love how they turned out.

Here is the sketch that Christa posted.....

And here is the layout that I created!!!

I made my own title on my Silhouette.  This was a bit fiddly to glue all the little letters down, but worth it in the end.

I used my paint and did a little splattering with a paintbrush.  This really brightened up my background and pulled in all the colours from the papers.

I added some Dew Drops and rub-ons, as well as a date stamp to record the date of this gorgeous rainbow.

I found this great quote which I used for the journaling on my layout.  It fit perfectly with my page and said everything I would say.  I added a little stamp to the bottom too.

One of my favourite parts is this photo.  I added the arrow and text using an app I have on my phone.  I do this a lot and plan to used more photos like this when I scrapbook.

I had a great time playing along with Christa's challenge.  I am definitely going to make an effort to join in with the August challenge too.

Oh Snap.......I Actually Scrapbooked!!

I finally took some time and actually scrapbooked!!!!!  It has been quite awhile since I have created anything, so I figured it was time.

The design team at Two Scrapbook Friends has some great monthly challenges and I was inspired to play along with the August Crafty Challenge from Amanda.  She wants us to use paint on our project.

I created a 2-page layout using a kit designed by Joanne and added paint behind the title.  I love how it turned out.

Here is a close up view of the painted area.

I used photos from Jay's trip to California.....so that mean another layout is added to his album.  We visited Universal Studios for a day and the guys had a great time. This layout was perfect for some of my favourite photos.

I will be back soon with more adventures.....and maybe even more scrapbook projects.

Our New Adventure!

Remember me? It has been over a month since I have posted on my blog. A lot has been going on.....all good stuff, just really busy.  The biggest change for me (us.....my family) is that we moved to Elora.

We had been talking about moving for about a year and we made June our goal to have our house listed.  At the end of May we went out 'looking' at houses only to find one that we really liked.

We ended up putting in a offer that was accepted and we had our house on the market within the next week.

Our house was on the market for one day and sold.  They buyers moved our closing date up from August to July.....which meant we were moving in less than 30 days!  The next thing we knew, it was MOVING DAY!

With the help of friends and family we packed up and moved out of our Waterloo home and into our Elora home on the same day......it was 42 degrees out and poured rain off and on all day!

It has been an exciting time with emotional ups and downs.  Two days after our move I was convinced we had made the biggest mistake ever and I wanted to undo everything.

We have been in our new house for a little over a month now, and it is starting to feel like our home.  Things are finding their place, new routines are forming, and new memories are being made.  It is really hard to move away from a home we lived in for 14 years.....where we raised our three children.

The kids are starting to hang around a little more, although they do travel back to Waterloo to be with their friends.  I hope that their friends will start to travel this way and visit us here too!  They are always welcome.

I am looking forward to hosting visits to our friends in the near future and in the years to come.  I will continue to blog about our new adventures (there have been lots already), so I hope you will visit me here and see what we are up to.
